As Paris Motor Show 2012 gets underway this September, Kia will be showcasing their new Sorento SUV. In the European markets, Kia will be offering Sorento in a choice of three engine options, all mated to a standard six speed manual while a six speed automatic will be an option.
Enhanced performance, highly fuel efficient and with improved ride and handling, Sorento will be fitted with 148 hp 2.0 liter diesel, a 2.2 liter turbodiesel R unit producing 195 hp and emitting 153 g/km of CO2 while the third option will be a 2.4 liter GDI petrol engine with direct injection offering 194 hp.
Sorento in some international markets will be favored with a 172 hp 2.4 MPI or 276 hp 3.5 liter V6 gasoline engine. Despite economic upheaval in the auto industry, Kia is confident that this new strapping SUV will be a major crowd puller. The company is targeting sales at 265,000 during the coming year. Prices are still undisclosed as on date.
