BMW sales during the period April to June 2012 have seen an increase by 5.4%. Sales during this period stood at 475,011 units as against 450,608 units sold in the same period in 2011. Revenues during the second quarter of this year also saw an increase by 7.35 to €19,202 million as against €17,888 million in the same three months of the previous year.
Profit before financial results equaled €2,270 million while this figure stood at €2,802m million in the same period in the previous year. This -19.0% profit was followed by negative profit before tax which stood at -25.4% while net profit too was down to -28.1%.
This could be attributed to high personnel cost, additional expenditure on R&D coupled with a high level of market competition. Sales volume for the period January to June 2012 was up 8.1% and reached 900,539 units as compared to 833,366 units in the first six month period of 2011. The BMW Group is proud of its performance in second quarter and half year results. They have set higher targets for the coming months and hope market situation is conducive to achieve these targets.
