Mahindra is expected to introduce the new Mini Xylo in India during the next few months. It has now been revealed that Mahindra will christen their mini Xylo as Quanto. Mahindra Quanto falls in the sub 4 meter category, thanks to which, it will not be entitled to the 12% tax levied by the Indian government on cars longer than 4 meters, thus reducing the overall price considerably.
Over the last year, Mahindra has been spotted testing their mini Xylo making test runs around the country. Though these runs were made by camouflaging mini Xylo, many features could be deciphered. These include the tail lamps, a spare wheel cover also seen in the Bolero, slab sides and grill borrowed from the larger Xylo while its seven seater configuration is perhaps an option. Hence it is expected that the Mini Xylo / Quanto will be available both as a five seater and seven seater as customers deem fit.
Expected to be launched in time for the Diwali festive season in India, the Mini Xylo will have its third row seats foldable to make additional cabin space. Additional safety features are seen in its top variant which will include ABS, airbags, steering mounted controls, Bluetooth, 6 spoke alloy wheels, adjustable driver seats and lumbar support and reverse parking assist.

Excellent review and Quanto will get a huge success in India.Mahindra has often insisted that it is not interested in developing a small car for the Indian market at this point in time. But this seems partially true.Somewhat attractive to look at, unique in execution and positioning and well suited to the requirements of the Indian market and from the money angle the Quanto or mini-Xylo have a very aggressive price tag, somewhere between Rs 6 to Rs 7.5 lakh which is very competitive.
