Mazda CX-5 picks up European Auto Bild design award: Most beautiful car in 'SUV, Van and All-wheel' category

In a recent European poll to choose the best and most attractive car in the 'SUV, Van and All Wheel' category, Mazda CX-5 secured more votes, ahead of Audi A6 and Q3. A total of around 200,000 reader voted. The Mazda CX-5 won the award with 17.8 percent of the votes, while the A6 and Q3 amassed 10.8 and 9.9 percent of the votes respectively. Majority of the readers who voted for the Mazda CX-5 were from Czech Republic, Turkey, Georgia and Spain.

The design of the new Mazda CX-5 incorporates 'KODO' design technology which combines essence of beauty and power of nature. It possesses a redesigned front fascia, with prominent wheel wells, which give the car the look of a predator about to spring. Prominent wheel wells, frontal lamps, grille as also sharp edged design of the rear of this car give the Mazda CX-5 an elegant look.

This car is available in both diesel and petrol variants. There are two 2.2 liter SKYACTIV diesel derivatives: a 110 kW/150 PS version and a 129 kW/175 PS. The second derivative is available with the all wheel drive option. The 2.0l SKYACTIV-G petrol engine provides a 121 kW/165 PS of output. One can choose between six- speed SKYACTIV-MT manual transmission, as also six-speed SKYACTIV Drive automatic transmission options. The base price for this model in Germany is €23,890.
