Mitsubishi Mirage small car priced in Japan from ¥998,000: New videos revealed

As the new Mirage hatchback sales are slated to commence at end of this month, Japanese automakers, Mitsubishi has released new videos of the small car. The new videos shows buyers what they can expect from the Mirage five door hatchback. Mirage made its world debut at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show while it was launched in Thailand earlier this year. Mitsubishi has now announced that this small and economically priced car will be going on sale in its home market in Japan on the 31st August 2012.

Just 3.7 meters in length, the hatchback has is single entry engine option. It possesses three trim levels all coming with a 1.0 liter 3 cylinder MIVEC gas engine mated to a CVT transmission that drives its front wheels. Fuel economy is pegged at 27.2 kmpl. The two higher trim levels will possess Eco Drive Assist, ASG Start/Stop system making the new Mitsubishi Mirage the most fuel efficient non-hybrid gas engine in the country.

Pricing in slated to be in the range of ¥998,000 ($12,567) to ¥1,288,000 ($16,219) while the company has already started accepting orders from June and have confirmed that they have received over 5,000 bookings. Mitsubishi have set targets at 30,000 units for the 2012 fiscal year.
