New Honda CR-V for Europe to be launched in UK this October – Enhanced features and superior performance

As the new European CR-V gets set for launch in October 2012, images and information have come to the fore. This will be fourth generation CR-V which has surpassed its predecessors on all counts. Honda CR-V was initially introduced in 1995 and was an instant hit considering that the company has sold over 5 million units till date. The new 2013 model is specially designed for European markets where it will be initially launched.

It will be offered in a 2.0 liter i-VTEC petrol engine or a 2.2 liter i-DTEC diesel engine. Both these engines were also seen in the third generation CR-V but have been redesigned to offer better fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions. The two engines will also be seen with Idle-stop technology. Speaking of the i-DTEC engine, it will have 150 PS power and 350 Nm torque. CO2 emissions are greatly reduced from 171 g/km to 153 g/km for manual version while with five speed automatic transmission CO2 emissions will now stand at 175 g/km as against earlier 195 g/km.

Where 2.0 i-VTEC model is concerned CR-V will be offering choice of two and four wheel drive. Revised front bumper, from and rear LED lights, larger and sturdier wheels and wheel arches, and a large enough boot to accommodate two mountain bikes or four sets of golf clubs guarantees that the vehicle is designed for exclusively for the adventure loving and sports enthusiast. Sales are slated to commence from October exclusively for the UK market while prices will be announced closer to launch.
