It seems like all car brands are looking to capitalize on the car market these days. Slow economies and uninterested customers are not a cause of concern to these car brands who are looking to expand their productivity and business far and wide. Renault the French car maker has decided to expand its production site in Brazil by an extra 5000 sq mts. This has been done so as to boost engine productivity from 400,000 to 500,000 engines by the beginning of 2013.
Since the Ayrton Senna Complex was opened in 1999, Renault has seen the manufacture of about 2.5 million engines with and extra 335,813 in 2011. Out of these engines more than 1.2 million units were exported to South American markets. Other than the engine facility, the plant also holds space for passenger light and commercial vehicles plant.
Current annual capacity is of 280,000 units and Renault has thought of increasing productivity by 380,000 units by the beginning of 2013. Renault as of now controls 6.8% of the car market in Brazil and is looking at 8% by 2016. or Renault, Brazil an important auto market with the Duster SUV and Sandero doing well.
