Lamborghini Aventador has Audi R8 steering wheel?

Lamborghini has always maintained that their Aventador is very Italian. But a new image revealed recently, shows the Aventador using the steering wheel of Audi R8 sports car.

Yes, Lamborghini belongs to Audi, and both of them belong to Volkswagen Group. So is it possible that the Italian sportscar maker used German technology to manufacture their legendary bull? Photo Gallery (2 images)

AutoEvolution test drove the new Lamborghini Aventador, and found that the steering wheel of the Italian car was very similar to that of Audi R8, in feel and functionality. They have now found an image which confirms that Lamborghini Aventador features a steering wheel which is from Audi R8 sportscar. McLaren P1 with rear wing revealed in new photos

McLaren has revealed a fresh set of photos of P1 supercar along with a video. McLaren P1 is making test runs as you read, and getting ready for its next global appearance.

McLaren Automotive, the British brand, has not revealed where the P1 is headed next. It was first unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show last September as a design concept. The new addition, which can be easily noticed in the images here, is the rear wing. McLaren P1 will replace the legendary F1, and to be a worthy successor, P1 will need to be really good. McLaren has revealed that the P1 will have much better aerodynamics (0.34 Cd) and power to weight ratio (1bhp : 1.66 kgs). P1 will share the carbon fiber tub and wheelbase from MP4-12C and will also feature the Formula 1 type KERS system. Mclaren is working round the clock to better the P1, the aim being, “to produce the best driver’s car in the world on road and track.”

Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster arrives in India today

Lamborghini India, will launch the all new 2013 Aventador Roadster later today. Aventador LP 700-4 roadster was first unveiled at the 2012 LA Auto Show in Nov last year. It is expected to arrive with a price tag of Rs 4 crores.

2012 sales figures of Lamborghini have confirmed that India is an important market for the Italian sports car manufacturer. Lamborghini India registered a 21% increase in sales last year and this year they expect to sell even more cars. The launch of new Aventador Roadster in India, within three months of its official global announcement, shows their commitment towards the Indian auto industry. This year, Lamborghini also celebrates their 50th Anniversary.

Powered by the most powerful Lamborghini engine yet, 6.5L V12 generating 700 PS power and peak torque of 690 Nm, which is delivered electronically to all four wheels (hence the nomenclature, LP 700-4), via a single clutch seven speed semi-automatic transmission. The gear-shifts are achieved in just 50 milliseconds. The transmission is developed by Graziano while the all wheel drive system is from Haldex Traction. This combination allows the Aventador Roadster to shoot from 0-100 kmph in just 3.0 seconds and achieve a topspeed of 350 kmph.

The new Lamborghini for India will be unveiled by Andrea Baldi, Sales Manager, South East, Asia & Pacific, Automobili Lamborghini. Official price of Lamborghini Aventador Roadster will be revealed later today at the launch with more details and photos. Stay tuned.

Cars at the 2013 Mumbai International Motor Show

Mumbai International Motor Show 2013 kicked off in style yesterday at the MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex. The 4 day event was inaugurated by former rally car champion Hannu Mikkola, and Bollywood actor, John Abraham.

This is the third edition of Mumbai International Motor Show. Previous edition was held in 2009. The star of the 2013 edition, was seven times world champion Hannu Mikkola, who first debuted as a rally driver in 1963.

Car enthusiasts can find new cars from the Indian auto industry on display at the 2013 Mumbai International Motor Show. It showcases cars from brands such as Audi, Skoda, Toyota, MINI,  Maruti Suzuki, Volvo, Mahindra Auto, Nissan, Premier, Mahindra 2 wheelers, Hyundai, Renault, Ford, Honda Cars, and General Motors India. Along with cars, motorcycles will also be on display. Yamaha, Bajaj Auto, Hyosung, and BMW. You can also find private display of cars and bikes where you can see Rolls Royce, Ferrari, and vintage cars. There is also a special edition Mahindra XUV500 with Cheetah imprint on display.

Jaguar AWD XJ’s road trip to Arctic

Jaguar XJ AWD’s undertook a 2000 mile road trip to the Arctic, experiencing 49°C below 0. It also won BusinessCar’s Executive and Luxury Car of the Year 2013 Award.

Jaguar has been awarded as BusinessCar’s Executive Car of the Year for the Jaguar XF and the Jag XJ won Luxury Car of the Year in the 2013 BusinessCar Awards. December, 2012 was a month fraught with cold winds and snowfalls sending chills down everyone’s spine.

However, these weather conditions didn’t hamper Jaguars foray into the coldest town on earth. For the mission to Jaguar XJ AWD’s were chosen. Cold winds and snowfall didn’t slow them down during this 2000 mile road trip. Those who are trying to estimate the temperature, needn’t rack their brains much longer as thermometers registered temperature of -49°C, a temperature at which hot water turns into ice within a matter of seconds. These Jaguar XJ models were powered by a 3.0 Liter V6 supercharged petrol engine capable of producing 340PS of power.

Apart from this, the AWD technology incorporated within these vehicles successfully propelled them over areas covered with sleet, gravel and snow thereby showing that XF and XJ models are suited for such climates.
