JK Tyre no longer title sponsor of NRC: MMSC takes over in 2013

JK Tyres has been synonymous with Indian motorsports for 15 consecutive seasons. They will no longer be the title sponsors for 2013 season as MMSC takes over.

AutoCar reports JK Tyre lost the title sponsorship rights to Indian National Racing Championships after a 15 year run to Madras Motorsport Club (MMSC).

It was a decision taken by Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) to bring in a neutral sponsor so as to attract more categories and additional sponsors and hence decided to bring in Madras Motorsport Club as the official sponsors for this upcoming season and henceforth. Earlier this month, FMSCI held their 39th AGM at Chennai. This was presided over by Mr. Vicky Chandok, President of FMSCI wherein major decisions were taken with regard to promoting motor sports events in India.

New office bearers were elected while it was decided that the Annual Awards Ceremony for the year 2012 will be held at the end of January 2013. Two major upcoming events will be opening round of MRF 1600 IJTC and ITC which is scheduled from February 8-10, 2013 at the Chennai Circuit.
