New 2013 Jaguar XJ AWD and more from JLR. The new development will allow JLR compete better with Cadillac, Lexus, Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, all of whom who have bought AWD to the road.
 

Jaguar XJ AWDIn keeping with Jaguar’s endeavors of continuous market research and developments in enhancement of efficiency, comfort and functional technologies, the company has introduced the new 2013 model of Jaguar XJ with enhanced engine specifications. Recently, the Jaguar Land Rover XJ all wheel (AWD) media drive concluded at Montreal. The new development will allow JLR compete better with Cadillac, Lexus, Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, all of whom who have bought AWD to the road.

An all new supercharged 3.0 liter V6 engine will be offered to the current lineup. This six cylinder engine is capable of 335 hp and 331 lb/ft torque and is mated to a new eight speed automatic gearbox with start stop function. Due to the addition of this enhanced engine under its hood, the Jaguar XJ should be capable of better fuel economy as compared to what it was capable of with the old 5.0 liter V8 engine with six speed transmission.

 

The new engined Jaguar XJ should be capable of 18 mpg in city limits and 26 mpg on the highway while fuel emissions should be at 159g/km of CO2 which entails a 14% improvement against the earlier version. The vehicle can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds while from 0 to 100 in 6.4 seconds. In India, the Jaguar XJ Ultimate will be introduced this year.
