Manchester United sign 7 year deal with Chevrolet as official shirt sponsor

Aon's loss is Chevrolet gain. Aon which was the earlier sponsor of Manchester United will now be replaced by Chevrolet as the club's official shirt sponsor. This is a seven year deal that the football club will be signing with Chevrolet who is also official car partners of Red Devils The deal is signed and sealed but the amount has not been disclosed as Chevrolet becomes the fifth shirt sponsor in 134 year history of the club. The sponsorship will come into effect for the 2014-15 season.

This linkup between Chevrolet and Manchester United will see the name of Chevrolet blazoned across Manchester United jerseys which will add to coffers of Old Trafford. Chevrolet deal with Manchester United is slated to be over £20m per season which is what Aon is currently paying. Richard Arnold, Commercial Director of the club is ecstatic about this long term deal. They have been partners with Chevrolet for just 6 weeks and have already been reaping the benefits of this partnership.

Chevrolet will be supporting the team on their upcoming tour of South Africa, China and Europe and though it will benefit both parties it must be mentioned that it is also fans that really care about the club who will also be at an advantage.

Renault LG Chem alliance to ensure better presence in electric vehicle industry

Nissan Renault alliance will only come into effect in second half of 2013 but the alliance is focused on being at the forefront of the electric vehicle industry. Renault - Nissan goal is to be present across the entire electric vehicle value chain right from technical architecture to motors and batteries and have confirmed their support to EV electric industry in France and partnerships with LG Chem.

These negotiations with LG Chem will be for production of current generation electric batteries from end of 2015 while the liaison will see development of next generation batteries from early 2017. This is a three year agreement between Renault – Nissan, CEA and LG Chem wherein these next generation batteries will be developed at the LG Chem European battery factory in France.

Earlier in 2010, Renault and CEA had entered a partnership to bring about clean vehicles and mobility. Together with production of advanced batteries, new technology for lithium ion batteries will be developed with studies conducted by the laboratory at an annual budget of €15 million. LG Chem is well versed with production and implementation of electric batteries. They have been in this arena for past 15 years and have till date filed over 6000 patents.

BMW 3 Series GT spied: Concept might be unveiled at Paris

BMW 3 Series GT, codenamed F34, is expected to be unveiled as a concept at the Paris Motor Show in September this year. It will be both practical and versatile, and sport a more swooping roof line, a short boot lid and SUV like hatch tailgate. 2013 BMW 3 Series GT will sit on a longer wheelbase and wider track to occupy a four wheel drive transmission while it will also be offered as a rear drive.

From the images here, which appeared on GermanCarForum, considering its new bodystyle, the vehicle will be a lot heavier as compared to the saloon. It is expected to be available in the same engines from the saloon which will include a 161 hp 2.0 liter diesels and extending upto the 302 bhp 3.0 liter six cylinder seen in the 335i.

BMW 3 Series GT will be positioned between X3 SUV and 3 Series Touring estate. Prices will commence from £33,000 while it is expected to reach company showrooms by early 2013 after its debut at this year's Paris Motor Show.

Ducati Monster 1100 EVO Bulgari limited edition sports bikes from Vilner Crafts

A total of 100 kits of the tuned up Ducati Monster 1100 motorcycle will be brought out by Vilner Crafts. This will be the second motorcycle which is tuned up by Vilners, the earlier being BMW F800 R. The tunes will include designs that will make the bike easily maneuverable and compact, specially in urban traffic conditions.

Inspiration for the new design is taken from clean body lines of the praying mantis while graceful designs have been adapted from the martial art Kung Fu. Specifications of the makeover include an aluminum holder at the front end of frame, new headlamps, seat designs and a 100mm shorter rear end.

A new paint job will include a unique Pearl White color which is not available on standard models. Two tone rims and 10 hp boost will ensure that output is enhanced from 99 hp to 109 hp. Pricing of the tuned up model is still a mystery but should be revealed soon. Vilner crew said, "the design team was inspired by the clean body lines of the praying mantis, and by its graceful movements, which was the basis of the martial art Kung Fu."

Kangoo and Kangoo Express ENERGY dCi 75 and 90 lower their CO2 emissions to 112 g/km by September 2013

It was at last year's Geneva Motor Show that Renault showcased its Kangoo equipped with Energy dCi 90 diesel engine in an endeavor to project low emission technologically advanced vehicles. Energy dCi 110 is one such engine will also powers Kangoo ZE resulting in top in their class where fuel efficiency and auto emissions are concerned.

Though the Lamborghini Urus Concept made its presence felt at the Beijing Motor Show earlier this year, it has been on display officially at the company's Sant'agata Bolognese factory drawing a great deal of attention. Lamborghini had earlier declared that the vehicle will be exclusive for US, UK, Germany, Russia, China and the Middle East but have now revealed that the Urus will be launched in other markets as well.

Lamborghini Urus will have an annual production of 3,000 units and will use the PL73 platform which is also seen in Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg. Prices of Urus will be kept at €170,000 ($211,000) which should make it the cheapest Lamborghini car in current lineup.

Lamborghini Urus will see use of enhanced lightweight material such as carbon fiber and aluminum which will result in weight, being retained at around 1996 kgs. In all likelihood, the Lamborghini Urus will be fitted with a V8 twin turbo engine offering 600 bhp power. When its production version will finally make its presence felt is yet to be disclosed though some say that the transition from concept to production is a good five years away.

Race One of Round Two of the Volkswagen Polo R Cup sees Ameya Walavalkar as winner

Ameya Walavalkar emerged as winner in the second round of race one which was fraught with many crashes and restarts. Ameya Walavalkar came in second in the shortened 8 lap race. He was closely followed by Rahil Noorani and Mihir Dharkar. The race was conducted in three parts due to two crashes that wreaked havoc on the track. Total aggregate of all three parts of this leg was taken in order to determine the winner.

Ameya bolted from the front of the grid and was closely followed by Sandeep Kumar and Rahil Noorani. The first red flag was held up after a crash involving Prashanth Tharani Singh and Ajay Kini. There was a bit of confusion after the first restart as Alisha Abdullah was punted off the in first corner. This development saw the race marshals bring out the second red flag.

At the second restart, Ameya took the lead and stayed ahead of Rahil and Mihir. He maintained this lead till the chequered flag which signaled the end of the race. Sandeep Kumar showed his skill on the race track after he passed 13 cars to come in at fourth position. This was after he was relegated to the back of the grid due to non compliance of rules related to changing tires.

During race two, Donovan Vaz finished first with Sandeep and Ameya finishing second and third respectively. After completion of the race, Ameya Walavalkar expressed his thanks to the entire Volkswagen Motorsport team and mechanics and hoped to maintain this form for the rest of the season.

Jim Morrison used Honda motorcycle for sale

Dan Ince is a connoisseur when it comes to motorbikes. He knows a famous bike when he spots one and is well aware of all famous bikes owned by famous personalities the world over. He was in luck once more when he stopped at a local Craigslist advertisement for a 1968 Honda 305 Scrambler motorcycle. The bike was owned by Kenneth R Howard and later by designer Von Dutch, but this is not what attracted Ince to its lineage.

The registration papers and lease and liability cars dated March 1968 stated its owner as James Douglas Morrison living on Sunset Boulevard. While there may be a hundred James Morrisons around, this bike was owned by the famed Jim Morrison, lead singer of The Doors. The 305 Scrambler in question is currently under service and should be up and running in no time.

The bike has been valued between $50,000 and $100,000 and will be up for display at Pebble Beach. The bike is not for auction but will be on sale independently. Jim Morrison owned this motorcycle from 1968 till he died in 1971, after which it was owned by Kenneth R Howard.

2013 Kia Forte sedan revealed

Kia Motor Corporation, Korea's oldest auto manufacturing company has revealed some photos of what is in store for their upcoming 2013 Kia Forte sedan. It may be noted here that the soon to be launched model is longer, lower and wider than the present model while additional space is added to its cabin thanks to an extra long wheelbase.

Expected to go on sale during the first quarter of 2013, Kia Forte or Cerato as it is also known, will be available at Kia dealer showroom across the globe. The new model will also have a new body shell with LED lights at the front and rear and chrome finished beltline. It will possess an upgraded engine lineup with proposes better fuel economy, in fact fuel economy that is best in its class.

Kia Forte, Cerato, K3 as it will be known in South Korean markets or Naza as it will be known in Malaysia due to CKD collaboration, is expected to have upgraded equipment, a revised engine and an even more spacious cabin.

Tata Motors Full Throttle motorsports activity concludes in NCR

In order to showcase power, stability and off roading capabilities of their vehicles, Tata Motors hosted an event known as the Full Throttle Trail at Tivoli Garden Chhatarpur. The event was kicked off on the 28th of July and was spread over two days. There were about 70 vehicles that took part in this event. The off roading track prepared for this event was situated at Pali village in Faridabad. Tata vehicles like the Tata Safari, Tata Xenon, Tata Sumo Gold, Tata Sumo Grande, Tata Aria, in both 2WD and 4WD configurations took part in this event.

The NCR trail was the third of the 21 trails planned by Tata Motors this year. These trails are designed in a way so as to allow car owners to make use of their vehicles to the fullest. These activities will also give car owners and off roading enthusiasts an opportunity to familiarize themselves with specific driving techniques exhibited in such conditions.

Tata Motors was the first manufacturer in the country that created a new SUV segment with the launch of the Tata Sierra. The activity provided a platform for tat to test the off roading capabilities of their vehicles and it also served to educate drivers about off- roading, many of whom were experiencing this thrill for the first time.

Vintage Aston Martin DB4 GT sports car expected to fetch $1.9 million at RM Auctions

RM Auctions have a record of auctioning some of the best and most vintage racing cars. This August, Monterey will see auction of one more such model. A vintage 1960 Aston Martin DB4GT will go under auctioneers hammer on 18th August 2012. This is an original, rate and spectacular Aston Martin Sports Racer and is expected to fetch an estimated price between $1,500,000 and 1,900,000.

This vehicle is fourth such model produced and is seen with a host of attention-grabbing features. The model in question is one of only 30 from a total of 75 factory left hand drive vehicles and has been in possession of only two owners since its inception. It possesses a 302 bhp 3672 twin plug dual overhead camshaft alloy engine with three Weber carburetors, four speed synchromesh alloy gear box, four wheel coil spring suspension and four wheel disc brakes.

Also on auction will be another bright orange Aston Martin DB3S/118 with an estimated price of $3,500,000 to $4,000,000 which was originally sold to Dutch racing driver Hans Davids. This vehicle was fitted with works specifications twin plug head and raced extensively all across Europe which also included a top three finish at Goodwood in April 1956. The auction will take place on 17th and 18th August, coinciding with the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

Asia Racing Team's Li Zhi Cong wins AAMC Macau GT Cup Championship

Close on the heels of his first GT win, Li Zhi Cong won his first ever trophy by winning the AAMC GT Cup Championship in Fuji, Japan. The 18-year old driver completed first six rounds of the season with the Asia Race Team. During this season he notched up five podium finishes and one win driving the Porsche 997 GT3 R.

This is the first time that the Asia Racing Team has won a competitive event organized by AAMC. The six- round AAMC Macau GT Cup began in May, at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia. Season finale of the 11- round championship will be held at the Macau's Guia Circuit.

The AAMC Macau GT cup is a nomination that is handed out to the top three drivers at the end of Round 6. Overall awards for the AAMC GT cup championship will be handed out to the winners during the GT Asia Series Annual Award Presentation Ceremony or during the Macau Grand Prix Sunday Party.

Hänninen and Markkula of ŠKODA Motorsport deal with disappointments at Madeira Rally

Juho Hänninen and Mikko Markkula, Finnish drivers of ŠKODA Motorsport had a disappointing start and an even more disappointing finish in their ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 at the Madeira Rally at this year's European Championships. The duo had to contend with an electricity defect in the last stage which dropped the team to seventh position. Despite these odds the two managed to get back into lead at the top of European Championships.

During the last stage of the race, Hänninen & Markkula were in third position. They could easily have reached a podium finish had electricity failure not struck during Leg 1 and Leg 2. This caused distress to the team but had not caused much damage to spirits as they are yet in top position in European Championships. The electric problems resulted in time loss while a further loss of 50 seconds in State 3 was caused due to double tyre defects.

Despite these difficulties which caused loss of time and distress to the two racers they continued with their standings winning nine stages in total. Bruno Magalhaes of Portugal was the final winner of the Maderia Rally while Vitor Sa of Portugal came in seconds.

2013 Mercedes Benz GL Class on sale from September 2012: Price $63,305 onward

As the new 2013 version of Mercedes Benz GL Class gets set for sale in the coming two months, prices have been revealed along engine and internal features what one can expect to see in the upcoming family car. GL350 BlueTEC turbodiesel will be priced from $63,305 while GL 450 will start at $64,805 and GL550 at $87,805 – all prices include $905 destination charges. GL 63 will only be launched in the first quarter of 2013.

Being launched and slated to compete with Cadillac Escalade and Infiniti QX56, Mercedes Benz GL Class will possess a stylish front fascia while its rear end will have a more rugged countenance. Where performance is concerned, the base GL will possess a turbodiesel six cylinder offering 240 hp and 455 lb/ft torque. Sprint from 0 to 60 mph will be possible in 8.3 seconds while fuel economy will be at 24 mpg on highway. GL450 will possess twin turbos and direct injection which offers 362 hp while speeding from 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds. GL550 possess hp of 429 while reaching from 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds.

Interiors are done up in wood trims and leather upholstery with a 7" screen dominates the dashboard for infotainment. Electric power steering is an added feature. Small and Light Commercial vehicle market growth impetus in India auto sector

Government policies, technical developments and economic changes have driven in increased demand for both small and light commercial vehicles in the Indian auto sector. Rapid growth is seen in this segment which will only increase in the coming five to ten years. In a recent study conducted by Frost & Sullivan titled – Strategic Assessment of Small and Light Commercial Vehicles Market in India sees greater demand for vehicles in this category.

Sales during 2010-11 stood at 353,620 units and this is expected to increase both in percentage and volume in the coming five years while it is hoped to touch 827,920 by 2015-16. Chevy Camaro convertible and coupe priced from $60,445 and $37,035 respectively

Pricing of the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 convertible and Camaro 1LE coupe has been officially revealed. At Grand Rapids, Michigan, Al Oppenheiser, Chief engineer, Chevy Camaro, revealed that Camaro ZL1 is priced from $60,445 while the 1LE coupe will be available for $37,035. Both these prices also include $900 destination charges.

Camaro ZL1 Convertible will be a soft top version ofFord Shelby GT500 and will possess a 6.2 liter V8 engine offering 580 hp and 556 lb/ft torque. The upcoming model will also be seen with a number of components from its range topping variant such as wheel bearings, shock mounts, monotube rear dampers, ZL1 based 20" allow wheels with Z rated 285/35 Goodyear Eagle Supercar tyres. Camaro ZL1 Convertible will be seen with enhanced external features which will include a matte black hoot and black alloys.

Chevrolet Camaro 1LE will have new 20" wheels with a 10 spoke design and low gloss black finish with red Brembo brake calipers. Steering wheel will be trimmed in suede microfiber and designed for easy driving access. Chevrolet has also installed quick acting, short throw shifter from the ZL1 to this model. The Chevrolet Camaro 1LE will go on sale in fall 2012.

Lewis Hamilton leads for McLaren Mercedes from pole to podium in 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix

Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix saw Lewis Hamilton lead at the fore ahead of two Lotus drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean. This is his second win of the season. Lotus pair, Raikkonen and Grosjean were second, and third, behind the McLaren driver, while Fernando Alonso was fifth.

Hamilton was fastest in both practice sessions held on Friday, and also in qualifying. He started at pole and only briefly lagged being for two pit stops before surging ahead. Force India has however fallen behind Williams by 6 points as they were unsuccessful in scoring even a single point at the Hungarian GP. Nico Hulkenberg stood in 11th position ahead of his teammate Paul di Resta.

This is the fourth time in the season that Force India has returned without scoring any points in a race. India's Narain Karthikeyan too was unsuccessful as he was forced to retire with just five laps to go after experiences damage to the left front suspension. Michael Schumacher had to retire after his Mercedes suffered from engine problems even before the start of the race.

Volkswagen Touareg TDI sets off for 16 day 23,000 km adventure from Melbourne to St. Petersburg

The team, made up of experienced German adventurer Ranier Zeitlow, Russian journalist Vladimir Gagarin, and German photographer Marius Biela have undertaken a 23,000 km adventure in a Volkswagen Touareg. The trio will traverse from Melbourne to St Petersburg and will cover distance between these two cities in just 16 days. They will be driving round the clock and will be alternating drivers in the process with an aim to set a world record.

Touareg will be powered by a standard engine while it has been fitted with an additional roll cage and an extra fuel tank. The trio set out yesterday from the Victorian capital and are expected to counter hardship, varying altitudes and diverse climatic conditions enroute to the Russian city of St Petersburg.

VW Touareg is fitted with a 3 liter V6 TDI Clean Diesel engine offering 165 kW/225 PS power. The vehicle is sturdy and agile in all kinds of terrain while it consumes 30% less fuel and is 25% more auto emission friendly as compared to others in its category. This is not the first time that Rainer and his team are setting a record. Ford vehicle production in Australia may not be as we know it today in 2016

Writing in Australian Financial Review, economist and former Reserve Bank of Australia Board Member Warwick McKibbin has suggested that Ford, the No.3 car manufacturer may bring local production to a halt sometime in 2016. He cites high dollar, carbon tax and high labor costs the main reasons for the company to take such a drastic step.

Ford recently reduced production to 33000 vehicles per annum and has even laid off 440 of their workers. Stephen Longley, partner with PPB Advisory stated this fact of closure even though others are not discussing it openly.

Despite the fact that Ford recently received $34 million from the federal government and also cast from Victoria to continue with the process of manufacturing both Falcon and Territory in Melbourne, sales have taken a beating to such an extent that it is not possible for Ford to continue despite financial assistance from the Government. Ford's decision to shut shop in Australia will come after Nissan left in the early 1990s followed by Mitsubishi in 2008.

Raj Thackeray, leader of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has raised objections against collection of toll tax. He and his party are not against such collections but are demanding transparency on all amounts collected. He reiterates that such collection of toll is unnecessary as costs have already been recovered and hence the party had recently gone on a rampage demanding its closure. As per international standards, toll taxes need to be collected only till costs have been recovered.

After that toll should be limited to costs of repairs and maintenance of roads which should equate to a negligible amount. Tolls were introduced in Mumbai in the 1990's when various flyovers and new roads were coming up across Mumbai and Thane. Thackeray has stationed his party workers at toll booths to estimate average amounts collected and they have surmised that across the Pune Mumbai highway, daily collection should be to the tune of Rs.1.37 crores which equates to Rs.456 crores annually. MNS have been warned against such anti toll tax drive but they are not bowing down to such threats and continue with their agitation and have even organized morchas across the city of Mumbai while have also put up various hoardings in this regard.

Thackeray has urged citizens to desist from paying toll till there is transparency in the collection process. Payment of such toll taxes are uncalled for an unwarranted specially in the light of the pitiable road conditions and the fact that these roads are already taking a major toll on the condition of vehicles. The Maruti Manesar plant has continuously been plagued by lockouts and production loss in the past 20 months. Daimler has seen a slump in sales in the Chinese market, but it's not worried and is keeping a focused attitude to maintain its earnings this year. BMW C Evolution electric scooter previewed

New BMW C Evolution electric scooter, their first ever zero emission model has been officially revealed. Visitors to the London Olympics will be able to see this new prototype, which the company is getting ready to launch. The electric powered scooter was presented for use at the London Olympics.

BMW C Evolution electric scooter is based on a hybrid composite structure with an all electric motor producing continuous output of 11 kW and having peak output of 35 kW and a top speed of 120 kmph. It will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph with a time limit which is on par with all 600 cc scooters.

Its 8 kWh car type charging socket currently the only one of its kind in a two wheeler vehicle. It is located behind the cover in the footwell. The cable is housed in a storage compartment at the right hand side of the footwell. This battery pack provides an all electric driving range of 100 km while recharge is possible through integrated charging device either through an ordinary household socket or at a local charging station in a maximum time limit of three hours. The company hopes to put it into production soon so as to make it ready for sale in 2014.

Porsche tuning by Hamann Motorsports: Panamera Turbo Cyrano Edition

Hamann Motorsports has offered a new tuning package for Porsche Panamera Turbo and Turbo S which promises to make these sports cars even sportier and more appealing. This tuning package includes engine upgrades thereby enhancing performance and power. A custom exhaust system with ECU optimization will be seen on both models. Panamera Turbo with 493 hp and Turbo S with output of 543hp will be increased to 595 hp while peak torque is expected to reach 870Nm.

Speeds are enhanced as well. The upgraded vehicles will be able to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.6 seconds as against an earlier 3.9 seconds while from 0 to 200 kmph will be possible in 12.4 seconds as against earlier 12.6 seconds. Top speeds will also now stand at 315 kmph.

Hamann has tuned up body kit and front bumper as well. LED lights have been added while a new carbon fiber hood with air vents are also enhanced features offered as part of the new tuning kit. Internally, the Cyrano is seen with leather upholstery and aluminum pedals though unfortunately no pictures of its interior have been released. The vehicle is slated for sale later this year while pricing is also expected to be disclosed only close to launch.

Ford Escape SUV's recalled: EcoBoost global promotion in August

485,000 Ford Escape SUVs will be recalled due to certain problems noted in its gas pedal. These defects have resulted in 13 crashes, nine injuries and death of a 17 year old girl in January 2012 in Arizona. This recall will cover all Ford Escape SUVs manufactured between 2001 and 2004 model years. Gas pedals are reported to be faulty and are sticking in place thereby leading to crashes. Hence the company had decided to launch a worldwide recall after total of 68 complaints were received.

Investigations conducted by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration revealed that out of these 484,600 SUVs, 421,000 were sold in US markets itself. In the case of the one reported death in Arizona, the Escape accelerated out of control and rammed into a sedan which flipped over three times before throwing the girl out of the vehicle leading to her death. This was caused due to inadequate clearance between engine cover and speed control cable. This fault is only noticed when driver has to press the pedal all the way.

Ford will be recalling all these vehicles and will be replacing engine cover fastener so as to raise it sufficiently to avoid the recurrence of this problem. Ford has been in the news for a number of other recalls recently. Earlier this month, Ford recalled 11,500 2013 models with 1.6 liter engines due to faulty fuel lines which could crack thereby leading to leak of fuel which could trigger off fires. Before that, Ford recalled 10,000 2013 Escape SUV's to fix carpet padding that came in the way of efficient braking. Ford will be promoting their new EcoBoost engines globally in the month of August.

Mahindra launched new Verito sedan last week with better mileage, efficiency, features as also space and comfort in its class. A total of 23 new features are seen on the new Verito. This new Mahindra car boasts of curves and macho body lines and bold cuts. The front of the car has undergone a total makeover and its new look makes sure that the sedan stands out in a crowd. Toyota on track to capture world No 1 spot once again, sells more cars than GM in first 6 months of 2012

New Jaguar CX75 supercar hybrid 1.6L to be priced from £700,000 to £900,000

Once Jaguar C-X75 comes into markets, it will be seen as an ultra lightweight sports car with a 1.6 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine offering 500 hp. However auto enthusiasts have a long wait ahead as the company has announced that this car is only slated to enter markets by end of 2013 or early 2014.

Cadillac ATS production commences at recently upgraded plant

General Motors has ensured that their new Cadillac 2013 ATS rolls out from a newly upgraded plant which was undertaken at an investment of $190 million. A second shift has been added to facilitate production while 600 additional workers have been added to the company's existing 1643 permanent and temporary employees.

GM Cadillac ATS will be produced at the company assembly plant in Lansing Grand River, Michigan from where CTS sedan, Wagon, Coupe and V Series models are also produced. 2013 ATS is expected to hit dealer showrooms this summer while prices are expected in the $33,990 bracket including destination charges.

The vehicle will be powered by a 200 hp 2.5 liter four cylinder engine which pay push prices a bit higher to $35,795 while the top of the like ATS should reach $42,090. This top end model will be powered by a 3.6 liter V6 engine offering 320 hp automatic with an all wheel drive. Handling is better than expected as Cadillac engineers have ensured weight is considerably reduced giving the vehicle a perfect 50/50 weight distribution and also added a steering rack from ZF.

Latest LS Lexus sedan revealed on Facebook

Lexus 2013 LS is slated to be formally unveiled only at end of this month but images of the soon to be launched model have already been revealed to eager fans across the globe. Lexus Facebook page gives us the first insight of what one can expect from the 2013 Lexus LS 460 F Sport.

It is stated that 2013 Lexus LS 460 F Sport will be launched in a total of four variants. LS 460, LS 460 L, LS 600h L Hybrid and LS 460 F Sport all have made their appearance on Facebook. True to tradition, LS 460 Sport is seen with a new front fascia with a spindle grille painted in black gloss. Lexus has announced that the redesigned 2013 LS will be unveiled at a special invitation only event in San Francisco.

Toyota Lexus has released limited information of their flagship brand while prices will be made known after official launch. Once this vehicle comes into markets it will offer some competition to the likes of Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and Porsche Panamera.

Ford records dip in profits for second quarter – losses in Europe pile up

Ford Europe sales have been causing the company some concerns. Sales dipped to the tune of 57% across European markets while the company experiences losses of US$1.4 billion during the period April to June 2012 as compared to the similar period in the previous year. Income for the past six months of 2012 has also decreased substantially from $4.9 billion in January to June 2011 to $2.4 billion in the January to June period of 2012.

While performance across Europe is dismal, Ford has done comparatively better in North American markets recording profits to the tune of $2 billion in the current year from an earlier $1.9 billion in the first six months of 2011. In emerging markets of India and China Ford sales were steady. In India the company sold 7281 cars in June 2012 in domestic and export markets despite challenging conditions.

Ford also has plans on introducing eight new vehicles into India by mid decade. Recent increases in petrol prices, ongoing high interest rates and questionable inflation have all had an impact on market conditions and have adversely affected the buying power of the Indian consumer.
