Fliz bike: This Flintstonish bicycle has no saddle or pedals (Photos & Video)

The concept of this design is to provide easy maneuverability in crowded urban space and at the same time reduce hazardous carbon emissions. To go fast on this bicycle the user has to gain speed by running and then lift their legs and place them on footrests located on the rear wheel. Although the position the user takes on the bicycle does not look too comfortable, the inventors are quick to point out the harness has a five point belt which provides a comfortable position for the rider.
When it comes to radical bicycle design, this one tops them all.

We're talking about Fliz bike, an outlandishly bizarre bicycle that has no pedal or seat. Users have to strap into a harness and can move around either walking or running. Built by German designers Tom Hambrock and Juri Spetter, this bicycle brings back memories of the Flintstones, Fred's car in particular.

This radical bike design is one among the many entries at James Dyson Award for Technology, Design and Innovation, an annual event of international students, where the winner gets a £10,000 prize. Tom Hambrock and Juri Spetter the builders of Fliz won a Merit Award earlier this year at an International Cycle Show in Taipei.
