HP Envy X2 Windows Based Hybrid laptop at IFA 2012- Touchscreen feature added on Ultrabooks

At this year’s IFA, manufacturers exhibited their prototype/hybrid gadgets. Several manufacturers have garnered attention from tech enthusiasts with their products, one of them being HP. The company announced its range of touch based Windows 8 computing devices for the future at IFA. HP has announced its Envy X2 laptop/tablet with Microsoft’s new OS. The company showcased the detachable screen of the device and the magnetic latch that that helps dock the screen. This device comes with an 8 megapixel HD camera in front.

Total weight of the device is 1.4 kg, where as in tablet mode without the dock the weight is 700 grams. The laptop-cum-tablet comes with Beats Audio integration, optional stylus SSD storage and NFC. Envy X2 Hybrid laptop is expected to be available first in the US towards the end of fourth quarter of 2012.

LG has also announced that its existing series of Ultrabook will have Windows 8. To its Spectre Series, LG has added the Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook. This device comes with a 15.6 inch multi-touch Full HD-1080p display. The ultra slim device is just 18mm thick and weighs 2.2 kg. There’s mSATA solid state drive that supports Intel Thunderbolt, this making data exchange with external devices incredibly fast. Besides standard ports the device has HDMI-Out, USB 3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet. Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook is expected to be available in the US at a starting price of $ 1400 in the second week of December.
