Mercedes Benz B 200 natural gas drive at 2012 Paris Motor Show



A notable fact is that this model belongs to the efficiency Class A and meets EURO 6 emission standards which are not expected to come into force till 1st September 2014. In the event of natural gas running dry the vehicle automatically switches over to petrol operation.
With the world at large turning to green energy and alternative sources of power, can Mercedes Benz, German leading automakers be far behind? They have announced their new eco friendly B200 Natural Gas Drive.

This vehicle is fitted with a double panel below the rear seats which houses one large and two small natural gas containers which has capacity of 125 liters of natural gas. The vehicle itself offers 16% less CO2 emissions and 50% lower fuel costs than any other petrol model.

In gas mode the B200 with a 115 kW Natural Gas Drive uses 4.2 kgs per 100 kms while CO2 emissions are at 115g/km. This model which is added to the Mercedes Benz B Class lineup is set to make its appearance at the upcoming Paris Motor Show to be held from September 27th to October 14, 2012 while it will be available at dealer showrooms by the end of this year.
