Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey 2012 concludes: All Riders arrive with a thump

After a total of 16 days, during which 67 riders from India and abroad traversed from Delhi to Khardung La and back on Royal Enfield Motorcycles, ninth edition of Himalayan Odysseye. No more fun, frolic and adventure astride these sturdy and durable Enfield adventure centric bikes as these 67 riders get back to their everyday humdrum lives.

16 days ago, these 67 riders both from India and abroad took on a 2,722 km adventure on the 9th Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey from being flagged off from Indian Gate, New Delhi to Khardung La and back. These adventure seekers undertook this journey which took then from Delhi to Parwanoo, Narkhanda, Kalpa, Kaza, Keylong, Sarchu, Leh, Hunder, Leh, Debring, Keylong, Manali, Chandigarh and back to New Delhi.

Atop the Himalayan Range, these 67 riders even reached an altitude of 13000 feet and covered three mountain ranges and 6 passes besides the 18350 feet Khardung La Pass which is considered to be the highest motorable road in the world. Back to the planes, these 67 riders were welcomed to a grand finale at Turquoise Cottage at Delhi's elite Basant Lok complex area where they reminisced of their adventures through these 16 days of the 9th Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey.

Apart from paying Rs 28,000 (bed and breakfast included, petrol, dinner and other expenses excluded) for this adventure ride, not only you need to be physically fit, you also need to own a Royal Enfield motorcycle in order to participate. The current line-up of Royal Enfield motorcycles include Classic Desert Storm, Classic Chrome, Classic Battle Green, Classic 500, Classic 350, Thunderbird Twinspark, Bullet Electra Twinspark, Bullet 350 Twinspark, Bullet Electra EFI, Bullet Electra Deluxe, and Bullet 500.

Royal Enfield usually announces the commencement of registrations for Himalayan Odyssey in April every year. If you are excited enough, keep eyes and ears open, and start preparing yourself for the 2013 Himalayan Odyssey.
