Vintage Aston Martin DB4 GT sports car expected to fetch $1.9 million at RM Auctions

RM Auctions have a record of auctioning some of the best and most vintage racing cars. This August, Monterey will see auction of one more such model. A vintage 1960 Aston Martin DB4GT will go under auctioneers hammer on 18th August 2012. This is an original, rate and spectacular Aston Martin Sports Racer and is expected to fetch an estimated price between $1,500,000 and 1,900,000.

This vehicle is fourth such model produced and is seen with a host of attention-grabbing features. The model in question is one of only 30 from a total of 75 factory left hand drive vehicles and has been in possession of only two owners since its inception. It possesses a 302 bhp 3672 twin plug dual overhead camshaft alloy engine with three Weber carburetors, four speed synchromesh alloy gear box, four wheel coil spring suspension and four wheel disc brakes.

Also on auction will be another bright orange Aston Martin DB3S/118 with an estimated price of $3,500,000 to $4,000,000 which was originally sold to Dutch racing driver Hans Davids. This vehicle was fitted with works specifications twin plug head and raced extensively all across Europe which also included a top three finish at Goodwood in April 1956. The auction will take place on 17th and 18th August, coinciding with the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
