Galaxy Beam Projector phone launched by Samsung for Rs 30,000

Samsung has launched Galaxy Beam which it claims is the first of its kind Android based projector phone. The device has a 4 inch WVGA multi-touch capacitive LCD display with a pixel dimension of 800x480. This phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is powered with a 1 GHz dual core processor with 768 MB RAM.

The Beam is equipped with a 15 lumen Digital Light Projector that can project a 50 inch 360p image at a distance of 2 meters. This stylish phone is 12. 5 mm thick and weighs just 145 grams. Galaxy Beam has a 5 megapixel camera that captures video at 720p. There is a 1.3 megapixel up front video camera that makes video chat easy.

The phone comes with 8 GB internal storage expandable up to 32 GB via microSD slot. The 2000 mAh battery when fully juiced is good for 20 hours of 2G talk time and 3 hours of video playback using the projector. A number of apps come preloaded with this phone including Google Play and a Drawing tool app for presentations. The Galaxy Beam is definitely a cool device, but at a price of Rs 30,000 will it find takers?
