BMW C Evolution electric scooter previewed

New BMW C Evolution electric scooter, their first ever zero emission model has been officially revealed. Visitors to the London Olympics will be able to see this new prototype, which the company is getting ready to launch. The electric powered scooter was presented for use at the London Olympics.

BMW C Evolution electric scooter is based on a hybrid composite structure with an all electric motor producing continuous output of 11 kW and having peak output of 35 kW and a top speed of 120 kmph. It will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph with a time limit which is on par with all 600 cc scooters.

Its 8 kWh car type charging socket currently the only one of its kind in a two wheeler vehicle. It is located behind the cover in the footwell. The cable is housed in a storage compartment at the right hand side of the footwell. This battery pack provides an all electric driving range of 100 km while recharge is possible through integrated charging device either through an ordinary household socket or at a local charging station in a maximum time limit of three hours. The company hopes to put it into production soon so as to make it ready for sale in 2014.
