Amitabh Bachchan rides Trikke gifted by KBC contestant

Amitabh Bachchan, India's 69 year old superstar, is well known for his collection of luxurious cars. In his garage you would find (if you are allowed that is) Rolls RoyceBentley, Mercedes S Class, BMW 7 Series, Lamborghini Murcielago and many more. The latest addition to his vehicle collection is nothing close to a RR or a Lambo, its a three wheeled electric powered, human mover called Trikke. According to Mr Bachchan's official blog, a contestant on his show, Kaun Banega Crorepati or popularly known as KBC (Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?), gifted him Trikke earlier this month, as a gesture of love and well-being.

Mr Bachchan says, "The rehearsals for KBC get along well. I say this because I get to be the recipient of many little warm and gentle gifts from those that come even if it is a mock game. Incredible. Like this morning I became the owner of a three wheeler bike, called Trikke, I think the name is right, presented so generously by one of the contestants out of love and wellness. A battery operated vehicle with limited speed for those that find walking troublesome. Why he thought of me is not known. Perhaps he thought I was in a state where my mobility was limited. I am grateful to him and his company that manufactures it. I rode it a bit around the place of rehearsal. It was grand. But I fear it shall be used more often by Agastya (his grandson), who having just landed in Mumbai, seemed to be eyeing it with expected permission to mount it."

Trikke is a three wheeler, chainless and pedal-less wonder. It is manufactured hoping to come to the rescue of commuters who are fed up with the traffic hazards and parking problems being faced in day to day lives. This foldable three wheeler designed out of two flat floor board and connected to twin rear wheels offers easy maneuverability and is best suited for downhill riding.

Trikke is lightweight and offers no challenge while parking even in most difficult and tight spaces and can easily be accommodated even in the boot of a car. Suitable for a quick shopping trip or to and from work Trikke can also be fitted with a trailer in case you need to carry some lightweight and compact luggage.

Trikke is being offered in manual mode, which are powered just by shifting the body weight forward, left or right and in an electric mode. While the manual model is priced at Rs.30,000 the electric model is a jump and go model that is priced at Rs.1,10,000. This being far too steep, manufacturers are soon making a cheaper electric model which will be priced at Rs.90,000. Trikke is being produced in India and is sold through dealer networks while Trikke India will ensure that timely and efficient service is offered to customers.
