Mercedes Benz continues to lead: Jamie Green and Gary Paffett finish 4th and 7th at DTM Race Weekend

This was the 350th DTM race at Zandvoort which was held the past weekend. Spectators numbered over 37,000 breaking previous year's record of 29,000 spectators by 27.5%. DTM Races the last weekend from 24th to 26th September saw Jamie Green and Gary Paffett finish fourth and seventh respectively with one two lead in the championships table.

Mercedes Benz has always seen outstanding results at the DTM races. Their drivers have seen 168 victories, 111 pole positions and 166 fastest laps in its history. Mercedes Benz is represented at the DTM events with a total of ten drivers, thirteen team titles and nine manufacturers' titles.

Jamie Green's (Mercedes AMG C-Coupe) victory saw him move into second place in driver's championships while Paffett (THOMAS SABO Mercedes AMG C-Coupe) seventh place victory has moved him up the rank with him being 16 points ahead of team mate Green. This race was won by Edoardo Mortara of Audi. Paffett now heads the DTM Driver's Championships with 109 points and is 16 points ahead of Green who is in second position with 93 points.

Prior to the race, during Friday practice, Ralf Schumacher's car, Mercedes C Class Coupe was involved in an accident in the pits. The accident left four injured. The video below shows what happened.
