Kidz Yamaha Safe Riding Science program gets underway in Gurgaon

In a bid to spread the knowledge of safer and more enhanced quality of riding techniques in the country, India Yamaha Motors has initiated a "Safe Riding Program" in Gurgaon. This program was begun in 2008 and has already covered cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Nagpur, Dehradoon, Guwahati, Vizag, Jammu, Ahmedabad, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Udaipur, Varanasi and Goa wherein they have conducted programs for school and college going students.

The Safe Riding Science Program inculcates the habit of responsible and safe riding among youth of today. A special Kidz program was also undertaken for the students of Ryan International School Gurgaon wherein 100 students between ages of 8 to 12 attended the sessions both theoretic and practical. The children were given hands on experience of road safety, importance of safety gear and how to ride Yamaha TTR 50 and PW 50 bikes which are specially designed for kids.

Instructions were imparted by licensed trainers who ensured that the idea of safe riding habits were ingrained into the minds of these youngsters so that they grow up to be responsible bikers well versed with the basic and proper riding techniques. India has the highest number of road fatalities in the world. Estimates reveal that there are 13 deaths every hour and about 250 deaths per day going upto 1,14,590 per annum.
