Mercedes Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID TÜV Süd Life Cycle Assessment Environmental Certificate

Mercedes Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID is just being launched and it is already the recipient of the prestigious Environmental certificate based on ISO 14062 standards. This award is being presented to the vehicle after it is found to meeting various specifications and complying with a series of tests conducted by inspectors of TÜV Süd.

BlueTEC HYBRID is the first diesel passenger car with hybrid drive being launched by Mercedes Benz. This model is leading where energy efficiency is concerned. The company has set new standards for this model which will soon be seen in other hybrid models being launched by the company in future. Mercedes Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID from production to over 250,000 kms of use will emit 23% less CO2 as compared to the Mercedes Benz E300 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY.

Besides this, fuel consumption too has been effectivelyly reduced when comparing the two and will now stand at between 6.1 and 5.8 liters per 100 km to 4.3 and 4.2 liters per 100 kms resulting in a reduction of 28%. The E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID also complies with recycling rate of 95% by weight which is expected to be introduced by 1st January 2015. BlueTEC HYBRID uses 43 components with a total weight of 41.5 kgs which have been produced by recycled plastics and has a further 44 components with a total weight of 21 kgs which are all produced using natural materials.
