Death of Click: Mouse and Tackpad clicks may soon be the past as Synaptics ForcePad makes its way

Be it a mouse or trackpad, we need to click a number of times to ensure our computers do what they are told. With new technology the barrage of clicks on a mouse or a trackpad may now be a thing of the past. ForcePad a new laptop by hardware specialists Synaptics has been announced in the market recently.

Unlike traditional laptops or desktops where a user has to click for a response, ForcePad works by sensing pressure applied by the user. This technological advance also eliminates the risk of breaking components as there are no movable parts present.

ForcePad is expected on laptops in the first quarter of 2013. This sensor technology will eliminate mechanical tap sounds and click sounds. Force recognition technology will be used significantly in gadgets of the future. Rick Bergman, CEO Synaptics said. "If the ForcePad had been around 15 years ago, I don’t know if we would ever have used the mouse”.
