Renault Scala sedan to be launched on September 7th in India

Renault will be launching their new sedan, Scala on the 7th of September in India. Based on the Nissan Sunny, new Renault car will be more aggressive and will be seen with features that will quite entirely transform its appearance with no resemblance to plain looking cousin, Sunny. Scala will ride on 15" alloy wheels. Its interiors are given a beige finish right from its dashboard to seats and door lining while seats of higher variants will be leather upholstered.

Scala will enter the Indian auto industry in the C segment. It will be offered both in petrol and diesel options. Where the petrol variants are concerned, the XH2 engine will be a 1.5 liter generating 99 PS and 134 Nm torque. Its diesel counterpart will possess a 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine with 86 PS and 200 Nm torque. Both petrol and diesel Scala variants be mated to five speed manual transmission. Automatic variant will be launched at a later stage.

Getting ready to be launched in time for the Diwali festive season in India, prices of Renault Scala are expected to be a good Rs.30,000 to Rs.50,000 over and above that of Nissan Sunny. Renault is currently represented only through its Fluence premium segment sedan but with Scala it will be reaching out to the middle class of customers as well.
