New Clio earns five-star EuroNCAP crash test rating

The New Clio thanks to its safety features, dynamic and responsive chassis has managed to get a top rating of five-stars from the EuroNCAP based on tests carried out by the organization. A global score of 85% propelled this car to the top spot in its segment. This score is a cumulative assessment of child safety, adult protection as also pedestrian protection and safety features.

To allow for effective protection, Renault used details of studies to calibrate the electronic systems to respond to accidents within a short period of time. High efficiency air bags for adults, seatbelts with pretensioners as also load limiters are some of the features of this car. To prevent submarining, Renault has made use of a technology known as Fix4sure. Impact detection sensors coupled with specially calibrated algorithms help to deploy air bags effectively and within a short time span.

Child protection features include three point Isofix child seat anchorage for both front and rear seats. Pedestrian protection features include a front fascia that has been designed not to cause maximum injury to pedestrians in case of an accident. A speed limiter coupled with visual as also audio warnings for seatbelts and cruise control are other notable safety features of this car.
