Kasey Kahne secures place in Castrol EDGE USA Driver Rankings Top 5

In IndyCar Series last weekend, Kasey Kahne finished in 9th position with a lead which also got him into the No.5 spot. A position which till date was held by Scott Dixon. Ryan Briscoe too received his first IndyCar victory which saw him jump four positions and a standing at No.20 behind Jeff Gordon. Jimmie Johnson is now in second place and has surged ahead of Tony Stewart in the No.3 position.

The current standings are Will Power (IndyCar) in No.1, Carl Edwards (Sprint Cup, Nationwide) in No.2, Jimmie Johnson (Sprint Cup, Nationwide) – No.3, followed by Tony Steward (Sprint Cup, Nationwide) at No.4 while Kasey Kahne (Sprint Cup, Nationwide, NASCAR Trucks) comes in at No.5.

Kasey Kahne edged up the Castrol EDGE Rankings last month with his 2nd victory in NASCAR Sprint Cup season at Loudon. The 32-year-old Hendrick man took a major step towards competing in this year's Chase as he beat a dominant Denny Hamlin to victory at the New Hampshire oval.Kahne started from the front and was in the top five contenders throughout the race when he surged ahead in the final round of pit stops and emerged a winner. Kahne was ahead of Hamlin and managed to finish with a bear two second lead. Kahne then led the wildcard standings.
